Fire Levy Lid Lift

What is Proposition No. 1?

Voters in unincorporated Skyway-West Hill will be asked to weigh in on funding for King County Fire District #20 on their 2021 General Election ballots.

What would Proposition No. 1 do?

Approval from a simple majority of voters would be required to restore the regular real property tax levy rate to $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation and establish an annual growth rate of up to 6% for the following five years. For a residence valued at $300,000, this would equal an increase of $9.25 per month for emergency services.

Why should I pay attention to Proposition No. 1?

The District’s Board of Commissioners has found that the revenue that would be produced by restoring the rate is necessary to maintain the current level of services, firefighter staffing, equipment, and facilities and to purchase additional equipment and apparatus to continue to improve services for the protection of life and property in the District and to enhance public safety.
